EXPERIENCE

Position: Intern, Office of the Executive Chairman (OXC), Summer 2019

Interning at APCO Worldwide allowed me to gain insight in the field I am interested in pursuing a career in while using the skills I developed through my public relations courses and previous internships. During my time at APCO I drafted briefs for new business opportunities, tracked the firm's affiliate requests and potential new affiliates, prepared weekly clips on India for Ambassador Timothy Roemer (IN-3), and participated in APCO's Future Workplace Challenge.
In addition, I was also selected as a Dean's Intern for American University's School of Communication (SOC) to serve as an external ambassador to represent American University students working at organizations the university hopes to facilitate relations with (view my Dean's Intern blog here).

Position: Research Intern, Project Interchange, Summer 2018

I interned with American Jewish Committee (AJC) shortly after my internship with Congressman Ted Deutch (FL-22). I pursued an internship with AJC because of my love for Israel and my desire to expand my knowledge on American-Israel relations. Project Interchange is the department at AJC directly introducing diverse global thought leaders to Israel.
At Project Interchange I piloted new projects used for research and recruitment and worked closely with the Director of Measurement and Evaluation on research and analysis tasks.

Position: Legislative Intern, Office of Congressman Ted Deutch (FL-22), Summer 2018

This was my first internship in Washington, D.C. and it increased my awareness and understanding of D.C.'s political environment. Following the MSD shooting in Parkland, Florida, which is in Congressman Deutch's district and the March for Our Lives rally I was interested in understanding more about gun violence and the rise of teen activism.
This internship was an opportunity to see how a congressional office operates during traumatic events. I attended briefings and hearings on issues relevant to Congressman Deutch's district and drafted memos and correspondence relevant to his work.

Role: Office of Student and Academic Affairs (OSAA) Student Staff Assistant, Spring 2020

As a Student Staff Assistant for the School of Communication's OSAA one of my biggest contributions was designing worksheets and flyers for prospective students and academic courses. This job allowed me to leverage my graphic design skills.

Role: Membership Director, Fall 2018
This was my first leadership role in a student organization. Being Membership Director allowed me to use the research and analytical skills developed from my internship at AJC to understand the best ways to gain new members for AU's chapter while incorporating diversity among students with different majors. I worked alongside the chapter's Diversity Chair to create diversity flyers for members majoring outside public relations.
The flyers we created were intended to showcase why students should join PRSSA. This helped the organization gain over 90 new members and worked to increase membership diversity.
